Optimism Can #MakeItHappen

Truth be told I tend to be the realist in any group, which, more often than not, strikes people as plain negativity. I can ruin brainstorming sessions by pointing out the possibilities. If ever there was an issue at work, I’d be the first person to notice the possible repercussions (based on experience) and colleagues get tired of hearing about them quickly. I’ve never been the extremely optimistic type, and I tend to see what can go wrong precisely so I can prepare for when it does happen.

And thankfully, Maybelline was able to give me a different perspective: By helping me feel optimistic that things won’t go wrong!

I could go on about how pessimism can help people, but it wouldn’t be right. Pessimism causes more harm than good, which means being optimistic should be everyone’s default mood. Although it was much, much later in life (more like last year) that I learned optimism was a lot better than pessimism, I’m happy that I still made the realization. Here are a few reasons why:

Optimism brightens everyone’s day!

If pessimism can bring people down, optimism cheers people up. Optimism boosts energy levels, making people believe in themselves more. Plus the cheerful disposition affects other people too. It just uplifts their spirit.  Since emotions like sadness and happiness can be contagious, it’s always better to be happy and surround yourself with happiness. Hey, without Maybelline, how will we get our hands on these latest makeup trends?

Optimism aids in self-confidence.

Pessimism just gets in the way of achievement, period. There have been plenty of times in the past that I held myself back because of fear of failure and I just ended up doing what I’ve been trying to avoid doing. It’s not a good thing. So to truly achieve your dreams, raise your confidence level. Be optimistic! Maybelline even lets us know that we too can get Georgina Wilson’s look despite our genetic differences.

Optimism is hope–that light at the end of the dark tunnel.

Optimism just helps you keep going. It prevents you from giving up and letting go of your dreams. With me, for instance, even though I hardly think of myself as an OOTD girl, I still dared to do it, since I also deserve showing off how clothes look on me. Get a load of this!

Maybelline as my source of Optimism

Look: Things can get worse when you have a negative outlook in life. It just permeates through your very being. I have to admit, I’m still having a hard time getting rid of the negative vibes more often than I would like. It’s as difficult as reformatting your brain’s hard drive. The great thing about positivity, though, is that it can get easier to achieve through time. Just surround yourself with things that make you happy–positive people, beautiful things, good food.

Case in point: Maybelline makes me feel good since its cosmetics make me look good. (That said, I think Maybelline should give me a chance to hang out with Georgina next year and live the #MaybellineNYFW dream since this is the best opportunity for me to feel much more optimistic about life!)

This reminds me of the Maybelline New York Fashion Week sale which will run from November 13 to December 15. (Shameless plug, I know!) :D
